Addressing sexual exploitation in IDP camp(Her EASE Re established)

Key Areas of Intervention

• Awareness and sensitisation: Educating women and girls about sexual exploitation, abuse, their rights and available protection mechanisms.
• Safe-space engagement: Creating opportunities for women to discuss their experiences and concerns in a safe and supportive environment.
• Prevention and protection: Helping women and girls understand risks within displacement settings and practical ways to seek assistance.
• Reporting and referral: Connecting survivors and vulnerable individuals to appropriate support and referral services where available.
• Women’s empowerment: Strengthening women’s confidence, voice and ability to participate in decisions affecting their safety and well-being.
• Community engagement: Engaging relevant community actors and stakeholders to promote safer environments for displaced women and girls.

The project sought to move beyond immediate humanitarian assistance by addressing the protection risks that women face during displacement and supporting them to regain dignity, confidence and agency.

Her EASE Re-established therefore represents an intervention focused on ensuring that displacement does not become an additional pathway to exploitation, and that women and girls affected by disasters are protected, heard and supported.
